Changing from drops to flat bars

I can only ride mustache bars, like those posted above, for 30 miles. I’m 77 so I have some arthritis in my wrists and mustache bars will not let me keep my wrists straight. I use drop bars but add cyclocross cross top levers. This way I’m upright and can drop down when coasting and to get a different position. I sometimes have to use a little taller stem, sometimes with a shorter reach. I have ridden over 100 miles several times with this setup. A Brooks Professional saddle is my preference for longer rides. Notice the foam bar tape over double sticky foam insulation tape. The larger soft diameter is necessary as my fingers are also arthritic. B17237B1-84F7-4639-AE43-C9B8B9CB4743.jpeg
