Chainrings...New stock or NOS?

So was out riding the enjoying the empty trails and whammy got a smashed up collar bone...now I'm trapped indoors seems like the perfect time to get all the parts for my old 1991 kona Explosif rebuild...

It currently has some only part worn PACE rings VGC and a GC M900 cassette i dont really want to use these i would much prefer to have say modern Acera drive train as this will be something I want to ride as well as restore. However, trying to find chainrings seems to be a case of going to Stronglight or TA? (5bolt 110bcd 46/36/24) Which is approaching NOS prices for the Deore DX SG chainrings!

Any other ideas?

Re:

Those Acera cranksets are heavy. For a cheap one, you would be better off with this: https://hollandbikeshop.com/en-gb/bicyc ... dMQAvD_BwE. Or better still, an old but decent condition LX crankset for riding.

But if you're riding on a different crankset, is there any need to replace the Pace chainrings, especially if they're only part worn?

I went Stronglight. They shift OK and are light too.
That's worth knowing: I was looking at those just yesterday.

I should probably clarify...

I want to run the Deore DX chainset as per original, but don't really want to run the PACE rings.

Thats why I wanted to have the drivetrain replaced with modern sensibly priced/easily replaced parts. I hadn't counted on 5arm 110bcd and triples vanishing from even bottom end groups!
