Chainring question ?

Would 9spd front chainrings work ok on a 7 speed setup, ?

Yes in a word, better still if the chainrings are mounted onto a 7/8 speed crank thus keeping the spaces between rings correct for the chain. Should the crank be 9 speed then ring bolt spacers would take the chainrings to the needed seperation. Will probably work fine anyway !

To add even more, a thumshifter or [cringe] gripshift setup where you can trim the front mech would be optimal.
