Centresport from Port Talbot (Woodrup)

Re: Centresport from Port Talbot

So after that I thought I's give it a go with the paint stripper to see how much chrome there was.

It stripped reasonably well but the rust didn't help with that process.

Re: Centresport from Port Talbot

And finally yesterday after a few days work and a hell of a lot of elbow grease I've finally got it in primer.

The forks are ok so I might get some colour on those in the next few days but the frame itself still needs a fair bit of work.

The suns out and I've got away from indoor decorating for a while so decided to get some colour onto this frame. I've no idea what to call that green but its been kicking around for a while so i thought I'd better use it on something and it does show quite a pearlescent effect in the sunlight which my camera isn't capturing very well.

Hopefully I can apply the decals later on today and then get some clearcoat on it tomorrow morning so it can bake in the sun for a few days..

Decals on and clear coat on, its been baking for a day so I'll leave baking for another day and might go for some gentle assembly on Friday

Thanks, whatever colour it is it doesn't look anything like the colour on the can, that's a more 1970's Toyota Corolla metallic lime green which is what I was hoping for but this one is growing on me so I'll see what it looks like when its built up.

I need to give the wheels a good polish, put some toe clips on it once I get some black straps and I'll change the calipers at some point to Dura Ace ones but its finished for now.

I'm quite pleased how this ones come out considering what an awful state this frame was in when I started on it.

Now I just need some nicer weather and I can take it for a proper run.
