With Gios chrome forks...absolute bargain for someone....so sad the steel mounts are not in high demand unless it's fitted with a battery & disc brakes...

Its nice but not perfect. The welds on the headtube and BB junction don't look too impressive. I have a Olmo made from Columbus Genius that is fillet brazed and looks tidier.

I won this bike despite being nowhere near the seller. Hopefully my shiply courier will deliver it today! I've always been a fan of steel and only recently picked up an early '90s peugeot optimum 531 frame but suspect this CBT Italia will be a bit better. I had a bianchi giro d'itali about 7 years ago which I always regretted selling. Does anyone know much about CBT Italia? They sound like a small low key Italian outfit but frames and bikes they put out do seem ok. Cheers

Great buy!
European welding is often like that, but you've also got that amazing chromed seat cluster lug making it one of those late steel frames straddling the end of lugs and the start of tig.
(Plus shaped columbusv tubes, pantographing &gios fork worth what you paid for the bike...)
That's a bonus for collectability - it would have been a bargain at 3x the price.
