Putting XTR on the hack work bike and looking for things for it I found the ‘lost cassette box’ in the workshop which had some Nice Things in it. All of this were bought in the early and mid 90's, run for a short while and then hung on spare wheelsets in the roof of the workshop (I always run duplicate wheelsets so no bike is out of action at any time).

First up an 8/10 XT type R 8speed 11-28 - these go for Stupid Money in the States...and even here there are new ones for 140 gbp. Mad. This one has got the usually-missing spacer and plastic retaining ring. Lovely XTr-like alloy basket.
This one’s 30.00 including postage. NOW SOLD - thanks Andy.

Second up a 9/10 virtually unused 32-12 8speed. Early Sunrace. Matt satin silver. Very nice thing. 18:00 including postage.

Third is an SR Sakae Suntour powerflo2 shimano-compatible 9speed mid '90s. Ran it on the spare wheelset for my nickel plated Team Marin, now long since retired. 11-32. 9/10 very low mileage.
18:00 including postage.

Fourth is an unknown date but NOS 11-30 unused chromed powerflo2 7 speed. Goodness knows re price.
12:00 including postage.

Fifth is an 8/10 DX 7 speed 12-28 without stick-on red label I am afraid. But nice for an early build. Bought when DX first appeared - very early lockring pattern. Only reference to price I have found is this: https://picclick.co.uk/Retro-MTB-Shiman ... 13742.html
So...for this one 25:00 including postage

Pm for dibs.

And if you think any of the prices are way off, just feel free to say - I’d rather have these being used for their purpose rather than lying in a box here.

Thanks.

Re: Cassettes: 7spd DX; 8spd XT; Powerflow 8spd; Powerflow 7spd

Interested in XT type R 8speed 11-28. Any close up pics?

Re: Cassettes: 7spd DX; 8spd XT; Powerflow 8spd; Powerflow 7spd

You Suntour info seems wrong.

That is later mid 90s onwards Sunour, probably branded under SR Suntour brand at the time and PowerFlow2, most likely Shimano compatible stuff.

It's not your early 90's Suntour Microdrive stuff.
Just in case anyone is looking.

Re:

Thanks FC - no it's certainly not micro drive Suntour and indeed is post-89 SR, after the buy-out. And it's 9 speed! It was in a Suntour box labelled 8speed and I thought it was one of the cassettes we bought when 8 speed came out. We were very excited I recall, and bought a whole load of Suntour 8 speed cassettes for our lightweights - my Marin Ti and Nickel Team Marin. Silly, should have counted it and not relied on the label on the box. Have amended description.

It change to SR Suntour from properish Suntour in 1995 iirc
The 1990-1993/4 was still almost proper Suntour iirc (and had some interesting developments)

Anyway something for another random thread sometime :)

I quite like that Sunrace cassette if I'm looking at the right one (Matt, dull silver finish, a bit xtr is in that respect)

Jonthefish here are the photos of the XT cassette

FC - yep that Sunrace 8speed is A Nice Thing. I like the matt silver finish. ID def Sunrace since I found the lockring knocking around in the bottom of the box it was in. Sunrace in red script.

It’s been dibbed but I am being met by a wall of silence from the dibber.....grrr
