Cassette size on Spin wheel?

Alright folks,

I've got a Spin rear wheel and the chain is jumping like a grasshopper on Speed so I'm looking to throw on a new cassette.

At the minute it's running a seven speed Shimano but I want to get an eight or nine speed on there.

Thing is - will the Spin hold either?

I ran an 8 speed on my old SPIN with no problems at all.

not 100% sure but i have read that spins can run 7 speeds with a spacer and 8 or9 speeds without it. If your have a spacer then you should be ok

SPiNs were produced with both 7spd and 8spd(9) cassette body rear hubs.

Can I see the spacer without removing the current cassette?
Where do I look for it. Apologies if this seems a daft question but I don't have a Scooby!

the spacer will be behind the cassette. it should be quite obvious if one is present.
