thinking about a new car this year :?

got a few i fancy, both sensible and not so sensible, so will see what im like when i tell the wife

has anyone owned or has experience of the following:

audi RS4
new shape focus RS
discovery 3
range rover sport

i know the not so spacious will have to carry the bikes in the boot, but i can live with that.

No experience of any of those, but out off them all if it were my money I'd buy the RS4 purely on the noise it makes 8)

dont buy a focus rs 5 door in nimbus grey

dull boring hard to trade in

do buy a focus rs 5 door in nimbus grey

anonymous, practical

the RS is a hatch back only, and the RS4 is my dream car.......though i have yet to drive one im worried it wont live up yto my dreams or infact become a nightmare as i live in a rough area!

i have experience of an rs4. absolutely fantastic machine and prices have been hit recently so you could get an amazing car. my mate has one (b6 i believe - the one daniel craig drives in layer cake) rediculously fast but very stable. he has recently spent a few quid on a few mods and is now pulling over 500 ft/lb torque and just under 500 bhp (on dyno)

anyway, it is a very easy car to get on with in terms of driving. it only feels like a lairy monster when you want it to.

suspension is definately firm but still very comfortable. they dont have to be expensive to run either. gareth's just had a cam belt and tensioners done at audi for £550 (it was an internet price match by the way - dealers can haggle!)

the other benefit is to a lot of people they look like an a4. to some people they look like a gangsta car so you will get left alone!

if you need any rs4 help give me a shout and i'll talk to gareth.

or are you talking brand new ?

Knowing Ford cars inside and out, RS4 and Focus RS cant be compared together, IF I had the money it would be an RS4, easy.

But, entirely off topic, I still want to add a supercharger kit to a 500 SEC or find the AMG heads and make a 6.0 32v Kompressor model.

i wont be buying brand new, if i was to go for a RS4 id get a 3yr old one at the oldest, the B7 model (420bhp non turbo).

if i got a focus RS they are way cheaper, 09 plates are popping up for decent cash but i think it stands out a tad too much for my liking, i will probaly regret getting it when every chav out there ends up on my arse end.....

i wouldnt consider an rs unless your a ford nut (like me) and enjoy the scene. can imagine if you dont embrace the brand there will be a lot of issues you couldnt forget, such as the attention it will get etc

im guessing you dont need a 4x4 from the list you have given so id go for the audi if i were you. (i know its a 4x4 you know what i mean)
