Cars and bicycles, what sort of cyclist ?

From the ongoing thread on Show us your cars 2 my apparent need for analysis, I am seeing something interesting in this thread with all the vehicles pics posted.

What have we, fast cars, classic cars and 4wds with some groups merging with others, fast and classic, and 4wd and classic, not sure about fast and 4wd, but, I am wondering if choice of vehicle has any bearing on what sort of cyclist one is.

The type that likes to shift fast, the racer, weight weenie even

or

the traction in action get there against all odds eventually cyclist

or

the show and shine cafe cruiser cyclist.

and various other groupings

I am wondering if our choices in the vehicles we choose to drive indicates just what kind of cyclist we are.

Land Rovers, V dubs, Campers, rally and race cars.

Furthermore, does your choice of vehicle have any correlation with your choice of retro cycle ? I ask this, as I have always likened the Saracen to a Land-Rover, in that it is a classic British bike built for a purpose, just like the Land-Rover in it's early days and later.

What bike goes with a V dub I wonder and with that other types of motorised transport and cycles ?

Can anyone else see any pattern here, or am I just over analysing again ?

My choice of car was decided by can a bike fit inside without taking the wheels off

my two cars are pure work horses doing 35 - 50k a year

My job doesn't permit owning a 'nice' car until I change careers.

My car had to fit a tandem and 2 bikes inside, and be able to cruise the Autoroute du Soleil @ 140 kph.
If possible as light as possible (tax reasons).
That's all.

good question,i like fast cars, that handle well but have major appreciation, and past indulgencies in concours/show n shine.my bikes however are all riders, looked after loads,my track car will be polished to high hell but ragged around cadwell, olivers mount and silverstone

i drive a mk2 golf gti. not a show car. purposeful but tastefully modified (i think)

i like it to be well presented and like lngy above, it will see track action (even though i said i wouldnt!)

bikes. purposeful. differnt bikes for different jobs(to a degree)

That was the same with myself, the Series One I bought as a project that was to be my car for use at work, I was a site engineer at one time, but later came the camper, that was my day to day car, it got used for everything including moving house twice and got used in all weathers, in fact sod the weather, keep moving.

I have never been in a position where I can have a dream car for leisure use only, so I just compromised. I have a liking for what is different and fullfills my idea of practicality, which is totally impractical to most other people, but I am weird that way.

But after three years of no vehicle, am coming into some funds soon and I just have to get mobile again, public transport just does not cut it, but I am going to have to back out of my usual ways and get an LDV Pilot instead of the always wanted Citroen 2CV Accadiane van I had planned to get.

Our motor was determined by
1) It had to be an estate cos the missus said so
2) What was the best estate we could afford to run and insure

No hidden agendas related to my choice of bikes there.

My car (VW Passat TDI) was decided by a) it can fit 5 people in, and b) return good MPG.

My bikes are all tidy workhorses but not flash, a bit like my motor!

I choose my cars on the following...

1, Wife would not be seen dead in it.
2, Kids dont fit in it
3, they are fast enough to scare me shitless on occasion.

An added rule this time, it had to have at least 500bhp per tonne and be fast enough to get me to work before i got out of bed.
