Carpal tunnel

I started to get pain in wrists and hands after typing a few years back -- switched to an "ergonomic keyboard", learned to type using the Dvorak layout, and haven't had any problems since...

fore arm support is key to preventing/relieving the symptoms.

i spend alot of my time at the PC desk few years ago i started to get pain in my wrists, got a bigger desk that i can rest my whole fore arm on within a couple of weeks pain gone and has never returned.

brother also suffered with CTS till he also got a desk big enough to rest his fore arms on.

my 2 pence ;)

If you spend all day on a PC, I can recommend the 3M ergonomic mouse...

I got to the point where I couldn't use a normal mouse for more than 20 minutes in either hand without severe wrist pain. 3M mouse was spendy but worth it... no pain any more, and I can mouse all day - amazing what rotating the wrist through 90 degrees does!

Just a suggestion, Khane: I tilt my keyboard away from me, and I find that it makes typing much more comfortable. If you want to try it, just place a rolled-up t-shirt under the nearest edge of your keyboard (about where the space bar is).

I've made this a permanent change by sticking plastic door-stops under my keyboard's wrist-rest...

Thanks for the recommendation. I've found that these mice are available in the UK, so I'm going to check them out...

Thanks again! :)

hehe my keyboard can do backflips so tilting it forward shouldn't be a problem lol

but honestly with the provided wrist support on the keyboard and setting it so it is raised but flat (4 legs on my keyboard)

i biggest difference i found though was having a big enough desk that i could rest my full (or 90% at least) fore arm on it.

(saitek cyborg v.7 keyboard BTW)
