This was a rescue project, assumption is this was a Cobra originally as it's a chromed Tru-wel frame with the usual crespera lugs and wrapover stays. 22.5" size frame, had been stripped of paint and converted to flat bar when I got it. I've cleaned it up and put on various parts I had going spare to make it into this form. £80 collected from Bristol.
A bit of a bodge build perhaps, but it works and it looks nice, and has been a nice way to use up a load of odds and ends. The knackered 27" wheels have been replaced with 700c (gipiemme hubs and quick release levers), brakes are original as they have the reach but I've put some modern adjustable pads on. Drive train was originally a 5 speed freewheel, but I've put a modern shimano 6 speed on there as I had it spare and the original was very worn. The derailleur and shifter are the original simplex, but I've swapped out the pulley wheels for less worn ones. Chainring has also been swapped for a less worn one. The chainguard and fenders came with it, I've kept them as they still work and make it a bit more practical as a town bike, though the fenders aren't actually matching and have been trimmed to be 3/4 length. Saddle is an anonymous plastic one from a modern bike.
The chrome is in OK shape, it's not badly pitted and I can't see any tin worm, though it's lost its 'mirror finish' in many places.
New cables, chain (8 spd shimano), stripped cleaned and regreased throughout. Hoping to get £80 for it if collected from Bristol, though can be flexible with that as I can do a bit of driving along the M5 or the M4, as well as regularly needing to be in Portsmouth for work.
