hmmmmmmm..... I spoke at length with the driver who described it as a Straight Eight from 1937 I believe, one of only 4 left as I recall, no mention of it being a Fairmile, which according to Wiki is a later model when Railton was attempted to be relaunched, although typing in Railton Fairmile in google images brings up a lot of cars that look a lot like the one in my photo, but not identical!!!

According to the MyCarCheck app on the iPhone, from it's numberplate MG6407 it's a Railton Fairmile 4.3ltr Coupe, beige, first registered 22/04/1939.
The apps free, but you have to pay for extra info like milage and valuations, etc (just like they advertise on the tv ads) - buts it's handy to have anyway
