looking at changing my car cause i dont like it,dealers say they will px but what if my car is worth the same as the one i want,do they do that or will they tell me where to go??
my car is bmw 330d sport touring 2002 and want to get mondeo 2.2tdci 2005...

ignore what it says in Parkers, Glass' guide is the dealers bible.

as straight PX is a rare event unless they can make a mint. The dealers I do odd jobs for have bought in cars for less than a tenner on some deals.

they will offer bottom price and point out random things that are wrong whether they are or not

you are way better off selling first then buying but that can be awkward if you have just the one car.

Agree. Sell first then buy. Try and get a discount for a cash sale. Sometimes you can get a discount for credit- sign up to it then pay it straight off.

Agree+1. Not sure about now but Glasses Guide used to be trade only, though.

Steve's Rule of Thumb -avoid dealing with dealers!

Gone 'levels' a few times with dealers over the years.. always remembering that the deal is never stacked in the punters favour.

Either sell your BMW privately, then buy the Mondeo you want,
OR
Advertise it on Piston Heads or ePoo as a straight swap for the Mondeo you want.

Any other way and your throwing money away
