Car dilema- Pics up on P3

I can't keep both. Problem with old cars (as with old bikes) is that they need constant fettling. I fettle old cars all week and in the past when I had loads of old cars I would spend my days off fettling old cars. I decided that I would just have one or two. Problem is I have quite a few projects in storage and the cost soon mounts up.
Finding warm and dry homes for them over winter is always a nightmare every autumn too.
For those reasons it's got to be one in one out from now on.

Had a few requests for photos of the car in question, so here you go

Could you sell it?

So that would originally have been supplied by Thomson &Taylor of Cobham?
The most beautiful car ever made, in my opinion.
My mum had a K reg 1750 GTV.
When she was sherried up, she DROVE it!

Here's a pic of a step front. Doesn't look too different but every panel bar the roof and bootlid are different. Also has a much nicer dash and a steel bodied car is 150kg lighter. Engines are 1600cc but i would be fitting a supercharged 2 litre if I buy one.

I think so. It was first registered in Surrey and then sold to Alan Day's dealership in London. It then went to a guy in Weybridge for a few years and then was sold to the lady I bought it from in Brighton. She moved up here in the late 80's and put the car into storage until I bought it in 2005.
I'd love to trace the original owner as i guess it was him who took it to Le Mans in 1975- it still wears the sticker in the top of the rear screen. 8)

I'd love to be in your position, just bear in mind some of us have to scrabble around just for some wanky bike bits. (sighs)

I might have to put my foot down at home and get another SD1 or W126 or something...

I cant even look at Classic Car Weekly without getting the 'itch'

Course I could get rid . . . since the purpose would be to get my mitts on something I wanted more.

Tis a beautiful thing though Dr S . . . . and an unenviable choice.

If you ever need a pair of middle-aged cripples hands to help out.. .. .. *whistles*
