Canti hanger advice

Hi,

I'm in the process of building up an old bike and have lost the original canti hangers, which is an arse.

I'd be grateful if anyone could recommend some front and rear canti hangers and where to buy them as they don't seem to be an overabundant component.

In all honesty I'm tempted to sack off the canti brakes completely and just go for v-brakes.

Thanks for listening!

You should be able to find the canti hangars in just about any bike shop. You do mean the hangar for the straddle cable don't you?

Thanks jimo.

Thought it might but a common issue with retro bikes but guess people tend to keep the original set up.

Well most bikes would have the rear hanger/noodle/odd devise already as part of the frame.
Front would be part of the stem originally or the headset hanger part you're looking for, then as it move to the suspension fork it was part of them.

What frame/bike pictures ? build thread ? is it for ?

i have a rather large amount of the bolt on hangers. £2.50 each all of which goes to the charity in my signature :)

Here's the set-up. Thanks for the offer jamabikes but I've got one of the bolt on hangers, I guess it would attach to the fork arch? Think I'd prefer to use one of the stem jobbies. Are you selling any other bits n pieces? That charity's a brilliant idea!

As for the rear, I can't bloody find the original Kona seat post cable guide so may have to think again :x

It'll have to be the bolt on one for the fork I'm afraid. If you use one at stem level, the length of exposed inner will change as your suspension fork compresses/extends, effectively operating the brake for you!
