Re:

My goodness, all the (mostly European) trails and rides and groupride photos I find posted within these forum spaces seem so genteel and benign - 'groomed' almost ... whereas here in Vancouver, BC., they are either shwoopty-schwoop-ass major rock 'n roll ... or, they're just fuggin North Shore insanely near vertical (both up, as well as down).

It'd be a real treat to be able to lope along on some retro-steel through those gentlemanly meadows and woods over there!!

Second that! Our local trails here in Atlantic Canada on the Bay of Fundy are all rock and root. Our city park, with 25+km of trails is aptly named... "Rockwood Park". Shoulda seen the bruises and scrapes on my wife as she learned the sport...

Be nice to spend a day crankin' along the flowey paths of Great Britain....

Re:

Seriously it's literally wild flower meadow after wild flower meadow here in merry ye olde England.

I've lost count of the the times I've had to swerve to avoid cheeky lost chimney sweep at Cannock only to have my landing cushioned by a sea of bluebells....

In fairness, there's plenty of the more interesting stuff in Wales and Scotland. Especially...ahem...if you go off piste.

Nice to see Cannock Chase again though. Spent quite a few summer holidays around there in the early 90s. Also the place where I learned that aluminium axles and mountain biking do not mix when a Mavic one broke half away round a race there. And later that the car parks are sometimes surrounded by hidden ditches.
