Can you buy these cable stops?

I have a non retro frame which is designed for use with a hydraulic disc brake so it does not have the usual locating lugs to clip the outer cable into. Instead its lug is slightly bigger to allow the hydraulic cable to feed through it.
Ive found that by running a v-brake with a continuous outer cable from brake lever to brake that I get a lot of flex in the cable and braking performance is reduced. Are there any adaptors that i could fit into the frame lugs to reduce them slightly to allow shorter lengths of outer to locate into them and then give me a run of exposed brake inner cable along the top tube as per a normal frame?
Hope this makes sense!

Thanks - James

My 1996 Proflex Beast was designed to run Hydraulic Magura's. so had larger lugs. But, it came with brass reducers that allowed you to use normal cables if you wanted. If you want to find some of thise maybe get yourself over to the Proflex forum and ask some of them members there, they may have some lying about.

On my Control Tech though I have had to run a complete cable to the rear brakes and suprisingly have found no reduction in feel or power.

I agree with the above, but I'm not sure anybody has any left over on the Proflex forum (though might be wrong!). You can buy ferrules that do the job anyway at your LBS possibly. They're smaller than the Proflex ones but they do the same job.

Thanks for the advice, the flex is really noticeable, the cable moves about 1cm and despite having XTR v-'s the back one is quite poor even though it is setup perfectly with brand new pads.

Contact Orange.

My E4 has them fitted. Bosses for hydraulic lines with little alloy adapters to create a cable stop.

They're usually very good if you give them a ring. (They hoard stuff ! )

Specialized make them. I had a set basically an insert that fits inside the existing (larger diameter) guide, with a stop at the end for the cable outer to butt up against, and a flange at the other end to stop it just pulling through the guide.

I picked a set up about 3 years ago through Condor to convert back from a magura Hydrostop to a canti.

These are the Specialized ones. Quite happily running XTR V's on my frame with them, think they were a fiver or so for a pair direct from Specialized
