Can I get a 1 1/4" to 1 1/8" adapter?

I have an Alpinestars Cromega 1991 which had shocking pink forks with a 1 1/4" steerer. They unfortunately got bent in a crash. I am beginning to despair of finding a replacement so I'm wondering whether an adapter exists which would allow me to use a fork with a 1 1/8" steerer. I have a set of RS-1s with pink decals which might look ok.

Not _quite_ the same topic - that thread's about fitting 1-1/8 stems to 1-1/4 forks, rather than fitting 1-1/8 forks to 1-1/4 frames.

There's a couple of ways of doing this. You can get reducer headsets, although they're not cheap. Or you can get spacers that you press into the head tube so you can use a 1-1/8in headset and fork. I've had some TNT ones in my Cannondale for about 15 years, and used some in a Moho as well. Never gave a problem.

BETD do what you need: http://www.mountainbikecomponents.co.uk ... t+Reducers

Not quite the same topic.

If you want to run a 1 1/8" fork in a 1 1/4" frame, you can fit adapters to the head tube that let you fit a standard 1 1/8" headset. Have a Google and you'll find them. I think Ison used to distribute something that would do the job.

The fancy solution is the Chris King Devolution headset, which (in the version you need) is a straight press fit into a 1 1/4" frame, but accepts a 1 1/8" fork:

Sorry to the OP. I read the question too quickly and all that registered was "1 1/4" and "1 1/8".

Luckily MikeD and one-eyed_Jim gave you the proper answers. FWIW, I'm using a King Devolution on my Boulder so I can use a 1 1/8" fork.

Hmmm...having just fit a NOS XTR 1 1/4" headset, maybe I should carry on waiting for some 1 1/4" forks in pink. Would be a shame to waste the headset.

I've got some 1-1/4" Quadra 10s gathering dust. Not a great fork, but would hold the front end up ;-)

Lol yeah I guess. Nah it's OK I have some white A-stars forks already, but they aren't pink and aren't the same fork. And I don't want to spend a pile of money to get them sprayed shocking pink (it's my commuter bike).
