Can a Campagnolo Atek RIMs Take 2.10 Tires?

Hi, I have purchased a set of Atek RIMS and tyres.

But silly me ordered 2.10's and they look a bit big.

I have another set of Ateks and they have a set of 1.9 Smokes on them.

Thanks

Hi Jimo,

Sweet I have just managed to do one.

It just didn't look right and I didn't want to damage the tire if I needed to send it back.

I thought that I had made a sizing error because my other set have 1.9's on them.

Phew!!

Thanks 👍

There's various tables online showing rim width vs max tyre size, I'm guessing the Ateks are 17mm internal width or something like that? A 2.1 will be well within it's capabilities, you may want to check clearance to your frame though.
Not all tyres are created equal, one manufacturers 2.1 might measure the same as another's 1.9 and vice versa.

Ateks are 14mm internal width (super narrow), but I´ve ran 2.1 tires on them without major problems. The sidewall bulges quite a bit and stability might suffer, but definitely rideable.

Yes they are very narrow but nice. They also look great with 1.9" tyres.

I couldn't find any suitable 1.9" tyres to go with them and I also ended up ordering 2.10" tyres by mistake.

It was a silly error but at least I have now managed to get them on the rim.

Although now I need to see if I have got the enough clearance for them!!

I'm hoping that I do.
