I'll cook up my food night before leaving - then its a nice and quick re-heat.

Also invest in a variety of small plastic containers with decent lids for food, coffee, corn-flakes, cooking oil, butter, sugar, etc. Saves a lot of space.

Still not a big fan of camping though!

Big up for Baby wipes - very handy in all sorts of situation.

Avon "Skin so soft" lotion is reputedly th ebst for keeping midges & insects away......

oh - and a caravan, (with gubbins), to ensure you have hot showers...

or a motorhome......

Generator?

some good and weird suggestions!

been in the new camping place in town, got a better stove thing/gas/kettle/pan etc, most of the other stuff can be robbed out of the kitchen at home.

it's looking like i'm quite prepared!! :D

how about food suggestions now? as in stuff that doesn't go off over a couple of days! i have a cool box but i'm gonna be at mayhem from thursday pm so it needs to be ok for atleast 2 days.

Kill two birds by pre-cooking some meals, freezing them and using them as an ice supplement in the cooler. They last a bit longer that way, plus they help keep your beer cool. Usual carby stuff, pasta and pasta sauce, chilli and rice, or if you're lucky like I am, some of your dad's homemade stovies.

Just back from camping at the end of Loch Etive :D
Wednesday to today.Changeable weather and two medium sized gundogs to deal, not fun when you have deer wandering about everywhere

Bowsaw and Axe were invaluable 8) 12" diameter logs are no problem and makes for spectacular camp fire's even Baden-Powell would be proud of.
They only cost a tenner too.We worked out that a medium sized fire burns through £10 per hour of bought in split logs. The saws first outing will pay for itself.I think some garden centres and B&Q stock folding ones, they pack down small which is ideal for touring, they dont have the capacity of the frame saws but they hold their own and make life easier.

Views from the far end of the Glen Etive road,to get you in the outdoor mood 8)
Crazy to think some people when given the choice, would choose to live in a city.

Fire extinguisher. On a recent camping trip I saw one balloon* try to boil some water in a stove inside his tent, Next thing you know they both come flying out with a boot

Guilty as charged m'lud

Probably just as well the tent was treated with something that makes it a bit fire retardant, although after that little incident I can't help but thinking retard retardant would be more useful.
