As an aside I gave only ever seen one black vintage SR chainring and that was in a picture and they were never released iirc

So it is very rare than.
But how is it possible that this one is on the market?
Also strange is that on both sides of the chainrings there are two shorter teeth near each other.

The SR chainrings had triangular cutouts like the picture above, the black chainring you have is typical of Nuovo Record / Sugino / Sakae design.

Some people had silver Campag chainrings anodised black, it might be one of these as I have never seen a factory Campag Nuovo Record chainring.

I'll have a look at the picture again for the two short teeth.
