Re: Campagnolo Record Hubs/Weltmeister Rims/SICC Merate Cass

Put a link on here so everyone who was too tight to buy them at £105 can get a chance on the big boys stage ;)

You might want to put the word 'wheels' somewhere in the ad title!

Re: Campagnolo Record Hubs/Weltmeister Rims/SICC Merate Cass

I looked at these (first post) and was going to buy them as the price is very good but hesitated as I was unsure about the rims, the hubs are worth the original price.

The age is a bit tricky, BITD road wheels were 40 spoke rear and 32 up front and in the early 70's this was replaced by the almost universal 36/36. These are 28/28 with large flange and straight QR's. We often kept the straight QR's as they seemed to have limpet like grip on chrome rear dropouts so 70's wheels had 60's QR's.....

They look like TT wheels from the 70's which is my era........should have just bought them :(

My catalogue #14 has a UK insert detailing 'options' which are mainly crank arm length, seat post diameter and hub drilling in 24/28/32/36 and 40. Weltmeister featurered on one of that American collectors recent big eBay sell off of bikes - a 1966 straight Hetchins, and his bikes are always spot on for period equipment. They are probably good for mid sixties to early seventies when Campag went "Neuvo'.

They came off a TT bike local to the Guildford area. The bike itself was sold with 2 other sets but kept this set back.
