622 means it's a normal diameter racing wheel (ie not a 27") 622 is mm - takes 700c tyres. Don't know what the "~16" you were told the rim was, as on the ones you sold me the outside dimension was not 16mm. Not complaining - the rear wheel has already done 100 with me on top. But it can't reasonably take more than a 23. AB
