Campag hub dilemma...8 speed woes.

The story so far...

No. 1 bike is running C-Record hubs on Wolber Profil rims...but i'm on my second axle and this one is bending!

In my spares i have a Chorus front hub and a pair of Victory hubs all in 36's.

Do i trade the wheels down to my trainer bike and return to 7 speed and look for a new proper 8 speed rear hub...do any of the Campags really work or do i need to look at a cassette type hub.

Or i could split the C-R's, find a rear (to go with the Chorus front) and use the Wolbers and build a set of rims on to the Victory's and sell the C-R's to pay for a few things...

All i want is a working 8 speed rear with matching front hub?

Oh woe is me...

As I understand it, they always had a habit of bending, 8 speed on a screw on freewheel is a bit too much unsupported length.

.

Hmmmm...as i thought from my reading on the great wide wibbly thingy.

Any advice on the rear cassette hub to go for, two styles i think for the early ones? and price?

Thinks there'll be a 'wanted ad' on soon?

Cheers.
