It's such a lovely looking mech so wondered if it's possible to use it with an 8 speed cassette and ergo's.? I read someone had tried it with 10 speed but they couldn't get it to work on 2 of the cogs. If it wouldn't work then would it work with c-record downtube shifters in friction mode on the 8 speed cassette? I'm not sure if the overall width changed between 6 speed and 8. I don't want to dump the wheels as I like them too much so would forget the (silly) idea if that would need to be done.
