Calfee Carbon + Bamboo bikes

Yesterday I drove 100 miles south to La Selva Beach, home to Craig Calfee's shop. I went with a friend to get a carbon frame I own repaired. I first met Craig Calfee in 1991 when he had a shop in a little alley in San Francisco. He was getting set to go to the Tour de France to take care of the carbon framed bike he had built for Greg Lemond for that year's Tour. Since then his business has grown to manufacturing carbon and bamboo frames, solo and tandem. He is also the biggest repair service for carbon frames. Calfee is one builder who is well under the radar over here, I have only heard of his LeMond bikes.
