Nice finish 8)

Mine are a little more 'industrial' to behold. . . but they work fine and the end cap covers all ills ;)
mmmm. may be i could trim back the plastic braid a little to get the end cap to fit better. these have wire strands inside not a solid piece. will give it a try..

If the end are not flat, more so for the gears, then you can have flex in the system. Ferrules can not stop that. If you use a cable cutter pliers the proper way is to file them flat (or maybe on a slight angle for gear if you know it's bending a lot, perhaps for the rear..) Course I would never bother with that, hence why I like the dremels method of doing it all in on, plus spinning fast disk are fun to play with.

If you melt the plastic cover in the cable, just file it down a little so the ferrules/end cap fits on .

Cheap and cheerful £25 Pro (by Shimano) cable cutters.

Nearly as nice as proper Shimano cutters, and better than the Park ones I had that were too narrow to cut brake outer properly.

It's only cut back so I can get a end on that will actually fit in the frame bosses :D

The braid on the type of outer you have is important as it is needed to support the strands :D
