C16 or Clockwork

Hi guys ,

I recently bought a Orange C16r ? but still not 100% sure if it is a C16 ? or a clockwork... the seat tube dia is 26.8 and has a 1" steerer, the seatpost clamp faces rear ... so I am thinking its a clockwork... anyone else help ?

TIA

Pic would make it much easier, what paint has it got? They all have 1" steerers, my 95 C16R had a 31.8 seat tube and I think a rear seat clamp. I think earlier Clockworks may have had 28.6 with a lug-type thing over that at the top to meet the top tube and seat stays.

Cant get any photos at the min fella, its not an original colour either, its going to get resprayed and re-decal'd , hence the reason for wanting to clarify which one it is... is there any straight forwrd obvious difference between the two.. :? :)

I have just checked the frame... and it has a 'butted section' near the top of the seat tube where the top tube and rear stays meet.. :?

So are we thinking its a clockwork ? obviously I know a photo would help but cant really get time to pull the bike out and photo properly , it would be nice to be 100% sure before I undertake any more work to her.. .. is there any way to be sure ? :? :)

Assuming it of the Clockwork lineage and none of the others, then the diameter you gave fits with it only being the clockwork and cannot be the C 16 series 'clockworks' C16 oversized versions of the classic clockwork.

Does it look anything like this one then?
