That axle is for 130mm spacing and 6 speed not 135mm 7 speed( I have one too in a box of spares). I have a set of hubs needing a 100mm and a 135mm axle and spacers and was at some point going to speak to Dan to see if he would machine some up so it might be worth getting him to machine some for both of us. I have a 135mm axle I could lend him if needed.

Had the same issue with a rear hub that I'd bought to build the wheelset for my klein. Was fortunate enough to score a correct length rear axle eventually but only after I had made the same mistake and bought a 135mm rear axle from US eBay. I hadn't taken into account the material needed to go into the drop out not just the spacing!
The correct axle you need measures 143mm
