Building my new frame - shiney frame pics added!

Re:

Great thread indeed, but I think it's fine paint it. You have the pics of the fabrication, so a good paint job loses you nothing...

Re:

I've been quoted £40 by a local company to fully polish and de-grease the frame.
I think I'll go for that and see how it looks.
I need to ream a bit more out of the head-tube to take the Hope headset I have lined up for it.
I've spoken to Tom, at Demon Frameworks, and he's kindly offered to help me out with this.
Once that's done I'll be dropping it to the the polishing company :D

Re: Building my new frame

That's ace. I think clear coat is the way forward so you can still see the brazing. Bet you can't wait for the first ride.

Re:

That's brilliant, I find it amazing telling people I built my bikes from bare frames but to be able to say you made the frame would be awesome :D

What degree of skills are needed to start the course ?

They sell the course as for complete beginers. Bryan promises that you'll leave with a completed bike frame (maybe still needing some cleaning up etc) at the end of the 5 days.
He did tell me stories of occasions when the 'frame pixies' came into the workshop after students had left to push the frames on a bit, where needed

On another build note, after having the hardly used press fit BB on my Canyon start creaking like an old door today, I'm going to be fitting a square taper and Middleburn RS7's.
I'm sick of modern BB's failing after such little use, and I'd rather put up with a few grams of extra weight over unreliable parts.
