I've had this 93 Jamis Dragon for about 6 months now and am starting to plan out what to do with her.
I'm planning to use it for a weekends hard riding in Afan in May (its my most modern bike, and the only one I have with suspension  ) so have today fitted some XTR V's, XT levers and some minty XT thumbies to get rid of the god-aweful (bl)under bar jobbies that were on there.
Also fitted some Ti bars that I bought a while ago.
Things that are deffo going are stem, headset, saddle, grips and chainset (I have a period correct one ready  ).
The main dilema is the wheels. The ones fitted for the pics are some gold ano Mavic 217 SUP's that I picked up a while ago, but the originals are silver M231's with gold nipples.
The tires came fitted to the SUP's and I left them on to see how they looked with this bike.
I'll get to the point then... :D What do you think on the wheels? Are the gold ano's too much?
I need ideas for the stem too, and what colour grips, saddle and head-set?

Here are the all important pics (you've earnt them if you've read through all that!)

I wont be doing anything much to it until after my Afan trip. Then its a full strip down and the frame need stripping, polishing and then re-coating in something clear 8)

And yes I know the front wheel is on the wrong way

with those tyres fitted the rims look fine. if i were in your position i wouldnt use the tyres as they are expensive and quite saught after. i'd fit some black tyres then see what the rims look like. as they are now it all looks cool to me.

if you like the tyres then a brown saddle and grips would be cool.

i'm no style guru though

Yeh, the tires would be for pics only :D
I have some of the grey kends tires that I'd probably use for general (summer!) use and some Tioga factory muds for the winter!

Bit of an update...
I sourced a Control Tech stem, which looked nice, but then exactly what I was after popped up on here :D
Arrived this week and has just been fitted....

The crappy top-cap needs to go, and the headset will be going with it. It wont ride as well with the X-lite as it was with the Control Tech (its 30mm shorter) but looks way cooler imo 8)

hmmm not sure
still looks a bit ....er...clumsy

love the grey tyres tho reminds me of old grey psychos

i might have a use for the head set

If you're going with the grey tyres, why not grey grips (oury are nice) and maybe even grey saddle? - Spoon do one in grey.

I think the headset in black ties in fine with the chain-rings, but the bike could take a splash of colour if you fancy a contrast all the grey and black. Maybe take one of the colours from the frame or fork decals?

Lastly, the stem; I would think that the Control Tech would suit much better the diameter of the frame tubes. The X-Lite (nice as it is) I think is too chunky for the frame and more suited to something like a Pace ;)

Cheers
