Hello everyone...
I am in need of some help please... This is my first foray into the road bike section
I have an old BSA Weekender that I'm 'doing up' to potter around town on. I've got a Cannondale road bike for anything over 5 miles but it's a pain in the back side for local stuff. I believe the BSA is a very entry level Raleigh. I don't know how old it is.
I'm going to fit some new tyres and narrow bars (to replace the huggggeee cow horn things fitted!) and also a shorter stem.
There are no markings on the tyres at all, apart from the fact they are made by Muddy Fox. They are definitely bigger than the 700c tyres on my modern Cannondale. So after looking on-line would I be right in thinking they are 27 x 1 1/4? Would the tyres in the link be suitable?

Also, I measured the stem fitted to be 22.2mm, according to the Sheldon Brown site (which is excellent isn't it!) I need a 1" stem.
Sorry for the ridiculously beginner questions, Thanks all!!!
