Brush painting tired Marin Pine Mountain frame.

You've got me thinking now. Maybe I should have used some wallpaper instead of helicopter tape. :D

Yes , maybe have some fleck wallpaper seatstays ! And a sharkfin made out of coving

Mudguards and a chain guard are never going to result in a thing of beauty, but I got fed up with having a soggy bottom and oily trousers when I'd just popped down the road to the shops. :D

The frame bag holds my D lock and a cable lock, but I'm not sure how long it will last before the seems give out, together they weigh about 8lbs. :?

It's only been back on the road a few weeks, but so far so good. I've got about 800ml left of the original 1 litre of paint I bought, they didn't sell smaller sizes, so plenty for the odd touch up. :D

If it does get really scruffy, I'll probably look for somewhere locally that can do a cheap powder coating job. Judging by other powder coated frames I've had, it's substantially tougher than paint.

I had another frame powder coated a while back and there isn't a mark on it yet:

It only cost £40.00, but I had to send it to a coaters about 200 miles away, because they did metallic colours, which cost an extra £30.00 in postage.

That's a lovely green colour 8) What frame is it ? Where were the powder coaters based ? I want to get one done myself

Thanks. The photo doesn't really do it justice, it's a really bright metallic lime green and very sparkly in sunlight. I was absolutely chuffed when I got it back from the powder coaters.

I've no idea what the frame is, but it's made of Tange Ultimate Ultrastrong, one of their top tube sets. I bought it via Ebay from another RetroBike member; there's a thread about it here, including a link to LSN coatings where I had it powder coated: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=232089
