British TV

My wife needs a bit of telly before bed to stop her brain working after she has been in the office all day.

Says it all really.

The single speed scene in London pre-dates Nathan Barley considerably, but they certainly captured the absurdity.

Brooker is a twat.

He is too damn funny for an ugly bloke, and he stole my girlfriend.

:(

What gets to me is the 'recap' every ten minutes on lots of shows. Soon they will be recapping the recaps.

Eventually the show will start by recapping the future shows.

Watch Charlie Brooker on 2 now,
He started out on bbc4

Last in the series, unfortunately (although I hope it comes back). Excellent stuff though!

If there wasn't so much bad TV about, what on earth would be left on air for Charlie Brooker and Harry Hill to mock? ;)

I'm finding Brooker more and more irritating.

That said, about the only thing I regularly see him in, is that Channel4, politics-and-current-affairs-dumbed-down-and-made-funny-for-the-ipod-skinny-jeans-generation-that-wouldn't-watch-programmes-about-current-affairs-or-politics-otherwise... and breath. And have to say, that although the programme seems, well, a bit too dumbed down, rushed, and sound-bite-y, the only good thing about it seems to be David Mitchell who seems to be something of a rising star in political debate.

Shame that any decent discussion or debate he's involved in on the programme, inevitably has to be cut short because of (I'm guessing) the presumed attention span of their audience.

I was hoping for an intelligent version of the The 11 O'Clock Show, but it's like a (barely) updated version of it.

Funnily enough (or not) Jimmy Carr, Charlie Brooker and Robert Mitchell were all on or wrote for The 11 O'Clock Show. What goes around...

I did like (PMSL) Booker's response to the ipod2 launch, it was genius but yes David Mitchell is the best thing on that show.

Think I'm morphing Robert Webb and David Mitchell into the same person in my last post. Maybe that's why they're working alone so much lately.
