I sat looking at them here and realised for the first time, despite the different fabricators and tubing types each one has a lugged Bottom bracket and not fillet brazed... :?

That picture sums up many visions for me as a youth, the trail, the sun, no bulllshit, dry, steel frames, the lot. The one from the 91/92 raleigh catalogue with the summit stirs the same nostalgic emotions

I still have my 1991 Alves frame hanging up in the back room, this 531 is fully fillet brazed with internal cable routing, reinforced head tube and chromed rear end.... I should get probably get around to building it sometime :oops:
