Why not sign up for the British Gas pay as go payment plan, every month they send you an email requesting a meter reading, once submitted, they then send you an email advising you how much your dd will for that month. This way, you only pay for what you use & not penny more than needed.

You can do that anyway, submit your readings on line and pay whenever you fancy, but we've lost patience with the thieving muppets.
