Bringing a 93 Kilauea back from the dead

Well the new decals have arrived and they look pretty good, i kept telling myself just wait till the weekend but i had to get at least one bit done lol

So i started with the stem which took about an hour to do lol,i love putting the decals on because you can see the bike come to life but it's also nerve jangling because once you commit and put pressure onto the decal that's it.
I compared it against my Explosif and it's pretty accurate to the original so hopefully the rest will be the same

I also had some gold clamp bolts lying around and i quite like it with the purple

For now that's it until the weekend where i'll have plenty of time to do the rest of the bike.

I hate this bit on the forks where you've gone over measurements time and again checking to see if everything matches with the other side and then pray you haven't messed it up lol

Well that's the first phase of bringing the Kilauea back from the dead and i couldn't be any more happier with how it looks. The colour is something special to see in real time,photos will never do it justice how it changes into so many colours in different light,the other 90 Explosif tribute bikes colours are amazing but this beats that it's on another level. I'd had in mind splatting it in one colour but now the decals are on i think it looks perfect so it's staying as it is because i'd hate to ruin it.

Compared to my old 93 Kilauea this colour makes it look a bit boring lol

Original plan was to do it like the original spec with some tweaks but as i'm writing this and looking at the bike in natural light in the house and watching how the colour keeps changing slightly,i'm not quite sure how i'm going to build now lol
