The only things that haven't survived are the seatpost and saddle. There were some modern cheapies on it when I got it. I sourced a fluted 3TTT seatpost in super condition and a new repro Turbo saddle in white from eBay. I don't know where the original Campag one went (probably too short for someone)

Apart from new bearings and cables, the only major things were that I had to have a rear axle made and to replace the bent one and the rear triangle had been sprung to fit a 130 axle at some point. I had that sorted back to 126mm before it was painted.

All that's left to do now is fit some gear cables, torque everything up and set up the front and rear mech and she's good to go

Oh yes, after being terrified descending on it on the Eroica, I have treated myself to replacement brake blocks from Kool Stop, again from a US eBay seller. They fitted perfectly.

So... I bought a BR of the bay and it had a few problems like seized QR/bent rear axle and headset was a bit rough (amongst others) but as it was built with Campag SR and was in a human size, I took a punt on it.

I decided to strip it down and send the frame back to Jason Rourke for a renovation and Its back today after 8 weeks and ready for building. I've gone for Banesto blue with Old English White panels. I'm locking myself in the shed tomorrow :D

The only extra I would consider doing on the frame would be filling the lug cutouts wit gloss white...easily done with a wooden toothpick.

Choice of colour and detail is just perfect to turn this into a true 'classic'.

Thanks, I was going for PO red with white panels but I saw the Banesto blue and thought it looked different.. I have to admit I spent the last 8 weeks thinking I'd made a mistake until I saw it on Friday. I decided against lug lining and filling the cutouts as I wanted to keep it clean. I like it on Team Raleigh red/yellow but I felt it would look fussy on the Rourkie.

A few self indulgent arty ones

These ar Conti GP Classics. I bought them at the Eroica where they had a stand. For a folding tyre they are a hell of a tight fit but they grip well..

I'm sure it will ride great. It's a fairly small frame at 53cm so pretty close to my modern rides..
