Re: Rourke 853 build

Thanks, but to be honest I've gone for a mix of what I've already had and some bits I've wanted to try out. Hopefully I can get the bar and stem combo sorted soon, because the steering was a bit twitchy.

Re: Rourke 853 build

Today saw my first real test of the Rourke, in a 35 km marathon style off road event. The Rourke excelled, of course, despite the unfit rider. I was quite glad to have suspension, which saved my arse more than a couple of times when I hit an unseen cluster of roots or a surprise rock garden...

Re:

It's... you've, ...dirt, covered in....it's DIRTY.

Wonderful, I'm delighted to see it being used as it was intended to be.

Re: Rourke 853 build

Here's the Rourke again, prepped and ready to go for tomorrow's marathon ride / race in Maia.

My phone camera and the light seems to have made the red look orange... but please trust me, the paint is still red!

A quick test on the scales gives a reading of 24 to 25 lb for its weight.

Re: Rourke 853 build

Great to see it being used appropriately.

Not regretting selling it at all.

I'm not.

Re: Rourke 853 build

Only 6'3". But the small wheels and skinny steel tubing enhances the contrast between small bike and giant rider.

Re: Rourke 853 build

I forgot to say, the Rourke rode beautifully on Sunday - as always.

Given my height, I should, perhaps consider moving to 29 inch wheels sometime.
