Brake help

Retro Newbie
Hello all, I am very new to building bikes and chose a 97 alpine trail for my first build. I came across a brake booster a friend had lying around and I am completely clueless on where to place it and how to place it - any help would be great!

At the time, placed on the ends of the (rear) canti bosses (over the cantis) to stop them flexing outward under high braking forces.

You'll need assume longer bolts, and possibly spacers.

Nowdays best placed on ebay or in the recycling😉

Thanks so much! Building an old bike is just so much different to what I’m used to on the modern bikes. Will take your advice!
