Brake cable ferrules jammed in top tube!!

Does anybody have any grand ideas about freeing some brake ferrules which were obviously a tad too small for the cable run inside my Pinarello top tube. Before I knew it they'd work their evil way inside at both ends and remain absolutely fast an inch or so up the passage on each end. Can't see a logical way to get the buggers out.

If outer cable will fit, possibly force them through with a stiff length of wire such as a wire coathanger or some stiff cable outer (Jagwire L3 is pretty stiff stuff)

Alternatively, see if you can thread a new length of gear cable inner that still has the original solid, non-frayable end through the holes in the two ferrules and out the other end, then pull them out with the lead end piece at the other end*

...and lots of WD40

*No responsibility if the ferrules become stuck even further inside the tube :)

Depends how 'stuck' they are, but I would get the inner cable that goes through ferrules, thread through one ferrule and poke down the tube to pop the other one out the other end. Reverse for the second. Just a thought...

Thanks, but tried that. The ferrules are pretty far jammed inside and it's utterly impossible to thread the cable blindly through the ferrule which I suspect is pretty crushed, so it won't pass.
