Brake Bosses for V-brakes. Specialized and Marzocchi fitment

Hi Steve
Ok, sounds good. They are for these:

Marzocchi Junior T 130mm forks.

Not sure what the MX series is and if they will fit these??

elP: Yes, does look like they hold the lowers together!

Glad about that, I was starting to think I'd made it up (it happens...)

Dead Rats had a set on here recently, he should be more knowledgeable than me!

I think mine are gonna be too long for them, as the MX series has the threads for the studs really deeply inset. Whereas you're look to be conventionally mounter on the outside of the fork leg...

Don't think mine have any additional provision for a brace either...

These are deeply inset too, with the thread starting at approx. 25mm deep.

However, it seems that the hole starts at 8mm (blank) and tapers to 6mm thread. That would suggest I need some like these that I've just found:

Are the ones you have straight from blank to thread or stepped? Also what do you mean by, 'provision for brace'?

Thanks

provision for brace - I guess I meant that based on what ElPed said, they need to hold a brace or somesuch, to hold them in place???

Tell you what, If you want to try them, bung me a payment (tenner should do it) and I'll get them in the post. If they work, brilliant. If not, throw them back in the post-box for a full refund??

How's that?

Ah ok. What elP was saying is that the bosses also act as a clamp for the lower part of the shocks.

There is a split between the 8mm blank and 6mm thread. So when you wind in the boss it clamps the two together. For example, in the same way a A-Head stem clamps to the the steerer.

Thank you for the offer, but unless yours are stepped from 8mm blank to a 6mm thread then they are not going to work. :(

I'll dig 'em out in the morning, just to be sure whether or not they're stepped, but I kinda think they aren't...

I've just had a look at the picture of yours again.

Do you have the sleeves too as in the pic? If I could cut off the spring hole, then they might work! :D (Obviously if I bought them and cut them they would be non-returnable. ;) )

Yes if you could dig them out to check, thanks.

I think I've got a set of the bosses you're looking for, bought in error for my bolt on brace Z1's. I'll have a rummage.
