Just got this for a couple of coins on ebay, keep the purple thing going
but im now not sure if they can be run with parallel push v's,
is there canti stud extensions or how does it fit, well i know how it fits ,its just ive never done it
Had the same trouble when i was 15

Did you get any parts with it? You need two metal tubes (about .5-1" long) and 2 extra long brake bolt and then a few big washers. They are satan's little joke to get set up when you have all the proper parts, if you don't you could be in for some fun!!

With paralel V's like my old XTs the cilindric bit can have a fight for room with the link bit.

Didnt get a thing with them
So i,ve used two chainring spacers[polished up] and two extralong bolts@40mm,i have provision on the wishbone stay for a further fixing point but ive yet to come up with spacer/tube[maybe a section of car Ariel]to hide the bolt
It wasnt fiddily in the slightest ,set up with no problems[so far  ]
I'll post a close up of the finished jury rig

Heres a pic-
The bolts are made by Hope [about 45mm long]and the spacer is a chainring spacer,it keeps the booster about 7mm off the pivot point :D
Total cost-£2 [£1 per hope bolt]
Typical, spend about £3000-4000 over the years in the LBS ,and they still charge me for a couple of bolts :( ]
