Well this could be applicable to retro MTB as well as road and cyclo cross, the issue is also aplicable to post 1998 bikes too... As there were too many options to choose from I thought I'd post here as it relates more to my forgetfulness than bikes.

Bottle cage bolts, they're M5 right?

My preference is Stainless steel doom topped allen key bolts.
I would use the same in Ti but at £4 plus for 2 they are 40 times more expensive :shock:

Cheers GG. As I am a tight arse stainless is more than good enough for me and at a couple of quid for a packet of 50 why wouldn't you?

Not sure I'd want anything on my bike that comes topped with doom!

MTBing is hazardous enough as it is.

Try to move towards torx for these smaller bolts.Theres less chance of the slot wearing and causing problems later
