BotM March 2018 nominations - Reynolds steel special

Yes make me stop.

To corrupt the words of the late great Roy Castle....... "Medication, Medication, Medication's what you need........."

Home alone. Sort of. Just dogs. For two days. Sorry.

A little surprised by the lack of entries this month but some beauties in the mix, as always. Will do my best to get the poll up tomorrow evening and start the nomination thread for April.

Sadly the Gazelle was entered a day late but it would be great to see it in April

Is it a suppository?

 now edited thanks

I’m blaming fat fingers and a little phone!

Re:

Can I add my 1981 Geoff Apps' 700c Range-Rider prototype.

The frame was made of Reynolds 531st by Harry Quinn apprentice Bill Whitcomb from engineering drawings posted by Geoff Apps. Originally known as the Phase lll Range-Rider, then the 'Cleland Aventura' Prototype it was designed to fit both 700x47c and 650x54b Nokia Hakkapeliitta tyres. Photos of this bike in 650b guise appeared in the first book on mountain biking written by Rob Van-Der-Plas and published in 1984. In July of the same year it was also featured in the second ever edition of Bicycle Action magazine in the same set-up as today with 700c wheels

It is now referred to as the '29er Cleland' after the class of mountain bike decades created by Gary Fisher. Fisher says he was inspired by the 700x47c tyres that Apps sent to him in the early 1980s. Tyres that Apps had obtained to fit this bike.

If April BotM is a '26" wheel special' am I allowed to put smaller wheels on it in order to qualify?

Only if you get it in before 1st May. :P

Just to clarify, the Wheeler is incomplete, the Kona was a year too new and the Mercian has reached maximum number of entries. The Range Rider and Gazelle were both entered too late but it would be great to see them, and the complete Wheeler, in the April nominations.....
