As soon as my new anodized bits arrive and get fitted, I'm going to be brave and throw my RTS in :D

Can next month (March) be a non special or GT/Xizang/Titainium month as I will have finally finished my bike a year after joining.

OK, will have a go with my 1992 Stumpjumper then... built up with all original XT M735 components and some subtile purple parts. I had everything changed to XT when I bought it. Had it from new since 1992 and originally it was DX equipped. Had some great times on this bike 8)

Here we go then:

Fisher Prometheus

And may I present the bike that started it all off for us. . . that love hate affair with anodising. Back in 1991, it was pretty hard to build an all black accesorised bike, let alone with colours. So when John Grafton and Geoff Ringlé cane up with that oh-so-vivid anodising that we now all know and love, and all take for granted, can I present to you, the first ever showcase for Purple. Geoff Ringlé's Fisher Prometheus

1991, with as complete a Grafton/ Ringlé groupset as was possible at the time. On a stunning and oh-so-rare Ti Fisher. A proper Fisher from back in the day.
Geoff had said to me that if they let him in, he'd consider giving the bike to the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame. When the likes of Geoff Lindsay and John Parker are all in there, how the guy who basically gave us Billet CNC from '89 and purple from '91; who later side-stepped Kozo Shimano's patents for some of the best, most robust and innovative hubsets around; and who produced such innovation but started a revolution for the humble quick-release, and basically started to give us the aftermarket is anyones guess. Even the sheet-metal bottle-cage was a stroke of never-copied genius.
Anway, the picture isn't great I'm afraid as I took this at Geoffs house just before Christmas, not anticipating tabling it here for you guys. But the boss says other peoples bikes are welcome. I can't claim this is mine, but I can claim to have touched the bike that gave us purple.. . just the damn brakes are round the 'wrong' way. .

GT RTS-1

This was the bike I always wanted as a kid.
I remember the year that it came out and everyone had a GT catalogue at school with this bike in it to look at

It isnt strictly true to what GT built it to but it works and I thought id give her a go.

Full xt groupo,
Judy sl,
Cane creek aheadset,
Magura raceline 'D' brakes,
Spin wheels,
And the DX pedals I have owned for about 17 years, still on the same bearings.
