Re:

Howdy

Just registered on the forum to get some advice on a project build and came across this competition. Has def given me inspiration to get it going and for the '17 competition maybe. This is the 'project'. Its an ex race custom mtb I bought for my dad about 20 years ago. He doesn't use so I have nabbed it back and Looking to get it back to its original state. Its a dynatech ti frame (I believe) the forks are the standout feature (no nothing about them), original derailleur, has shimano hyper glide currently but looking to put xt 737 kit on it plus new/old wheels - any advice on what would be appropriate would be much appreciated

Re:

Nice....as you say it is the forks! Called "Direct Control".
Search on here and you'll find lots about the Torus. Lovely bike.
Interesting, yours is an FS which I thought usually suggested "front suspension". The XT as per the catalog scan had the "direct Control" forks. But as you can see in the bottom photo another "FS" with DC forks. Someone with much greater knowledge than me will be along and point you in the right direction.
