New postage sizing from Parcelforce adds the length to the girth if this exceeds 3m it's too big. If it is less than 5m they'll still take it but you'll have to drop it off at the depot only.

In short posting bikes via Parcelforce is extremely difficult unless you live close to a depot. This explains why a bike I 'sold' is still sat in it's box and I've had to issue a refund.
