Bose Wave cd skipping

IMO, a bose wave stereo with a skipping CD player is worth pretty much zero. I have skipped them in the past... Cleaning a lens may help you get a bit more life out of it, but if the laser is strong then a bit of dust won't bother it. Replacing the laser mech may also be possible, but it's a skilled task, unlikely to be cost effective, and no guarantee of long term reliability in my experience. Better to get one that works properly!

LGF... with respect, the idea that there's something inherently wrong with class A is utter nonsense. Most conventional class AB amps will have parts of the circuit that run in full class A anyway. In theory class A should be better. In practice it's more complicated than that, but like all things it comes down to how well the technology is implemented. There are good and bad (solid state) class A amps, good and bad class AB, and for that matter good and bad valve amplifiers!

Another thumbs up on the little Chinese TPA3116 based amp you link to - I have one in the shed running off a 19V laptop PSU. Mine's branded "Nobsound" which is even better.
