But I have a good condition used set of the Titec ti ones, which I might just use instead, so i don’t end up too precious about it.

So... have stuck a lot of kit on the bike now. Have decided to go with parts that are in good shape but not the NOS stuff - at least not for now. This is where I’m at now..

Have run into a frustrating issue though. BB overspray.. I can’t fit the new BB or even the knackered old one. Not happy. Is it too much to ask a proper old school frame builder to either adequately cover the threads prior to painting - or maybe chase them afterwards?

Now I’m going to have to take it - and probably the Prestige I had done at the same time to my (semi) local LBS. So unnecessary.

Thanks.. knowing my skill level my next post will be about having a new bb shell welded in to replace my handiwork!

Might have at it with a wire brush and some degreaser, in the first instance.

I hope not. That said I had a BB recently that was a bugger to get out & the plastic collar on nds disintegated & left loads of plastic in the threads. I've got a sick note at the moment so my local bike tech chased it out for £20.
